Wk31-Revamp Your SEO for AI
Search Ready
Last month, a new client told me they found me by asking ChatGPT to recommend a Seattle web designer. Not Google. Not a referral. A LLM. That one moment completely reframed how I think about SEO. It’s no longer just about ranking on page one of Google—it’s about making sure our sites are readable, relevant, and structured for AI tools too. Let’s make sure your content is ready for that shift.
Habit of the week:
Wk31-Revamp Your SEO for AI
This week's habit is about updating your site so it works better with AI-powered search tools. That means rewriting key service pages and blog posts to answer common client questions, using simple headings, and making your offerings easy to understand at a glance.
Why it matters:
As AI tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini become go-to sources for recommendations, the way they “read” your website matters more than ever. These tools pull structured data, clear language, and helpful content—especially location and niche details—to answer user questions. If your site isn't optimized for clarity and helpfulness, you might be invisible to the next potential client asking their AI assistant for a “Squarespace designer in Austin.”
Quick Start Guide:
- Review your homepage copy: Is your service and location immediately clear? Avoid jargon.
- Add location + niche keywords: Naturally include phrases like “Denver WordPress designer for nonprofits.”
- Simplify your meta descriptions: Clear, concise summaries help both AI and humans understand your pages.
- Check your site structure: Use headings (H1, H2) properly so your content is easy to parse.
Cami's Tips
- Refresh FAQ pages to align with questions clients actually ask.
- Revisit all your site copy, especially if you haven't done so in awhile. I recently rewrote all my website copy to better reflect my services.
- Create content designed to be helpful, not just keyword-rich
- Ask your LLM for guidance directly!
Routine Checkpoint:
Remember, SEO is a continuous effort, not a one-time fix. How confident are you that your current content is ready for AI search? Even small updates can improve visibility and bring in better leads.
